Closing keynote: Accelerating strategic change: the climate change agenda and its implications for a sustainable finance revolution
Session date: 17/06/21
Session time: 15:30
Despite the pressures of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Brexit, and LIBOR transition, financial and non-financial corporates have been keen to progress the climate-risk agenda. However, more tangible actions are needed to turn this enthusiasm into practice. In this session, Sarah Breeden, who leads the Bank of England’s work on climate-related risks, will have a conversation with James Winterton, ACT on her takeaways from the 47th G7 Summit and her insights into the roadmap to COP26, as well as the Bank’s role and ambition towards ‘net-zero’. The session will also reflect on how corporate treasurers can play a key part in leading the sustainable finance revolution within their own organisations and contribute to global climate change mitigation.
